What kind of competition is Space2Earth?

This is an innovative pitch competition, aimed at addressing a current sustainability issue with space technologies.

Who can participate?

Every undergraduate student at Concordia University can participate, regardless of their major.

Help! I don't know anything about space or sustainability, can I still sign up?

That is okay! As long as you are eager to learn you can still sign up 🙂 We will have mentors who can provide you with their expertise!

Do I need to sign up with a team?

No, you can sign up alone and we will place you in a team of 3 or 4!

Who is collaborating?

Mars Society of Canada is our official collaborator 🚀

What will I gain from participating in this competition?

Not only do we have prizes for the winning team, but you will gain experience learning how to pitch, meet students from different disciplines, and gain an understanding of sustainable technologies used in space. 

Will I have to create a physical prototype of my idea in less than 48hrs?

No, you will only have to pitch your idea as a presentation... This can include sketches or pictures if you wish!

When will we know what the case is?

All teams will receive an email 24hrs before competition, on March 31st, with the case details. You will then have until 1pm on April 1st (competition day!) to submit your presentation.

It is up to you and your team how you wish to organize your time, be smart! 🧠

What will I need to bring the day of the competition?

We will provide lunch 🥪 and beverages ☕, and a room to work in with your team.

Make sure you have access to a working device (laptop, tablet, etc.) to conduct your research and build your pitch presentation.

PS: bring your water bottle and stay hydrated!

What is the size of each team?

The teams will be made up of 3-4 participants.

Is this competition exclusively for women?

Not at all, we invite everyone to register and participate. This competition is open to people of all genders.
